Triple Whammy

After a rush to the emergency room on Sunday because of intense back pain, Chris was given narcotics and an appointment for a colonoscopy. We drove up to American Fork hospital on Monday and they did a top endoscopy, down through his throat to check his stomach. He was pretty out of it when he woke up. He asked me 4 or 5 times what time his appointment was the next day. Then we got to go back up to American Fork hospital on Tuesday for his colonoscopy. Woohoo. It went well, he had 2 polyps taken out, so that is good! He was even more loopy when he came out the second day. He was going on about a sparkle bandaid, talking like a drunk man, to the nurse. The nurse ended up giving him a Daffy Duck bandaid to take home. I felt like such a terrible wife, making him stay on clear liquids for so long. His last meal was on Saturday night...and he lasted until late Tuesday afternoon. His pants are a little too big now :)

Sporting his third IV bandage of the week
His first meal in 70 hours. He had a hard time finishing it.
GOLIGHTLY! 2 WHOLE GALLONS IN 2 DAYS!

Shattered Glass

We have been rearranging our apartment and were trying to take out a shelf from this stand thing...and Chris underestimated his own strength! As he pulled it out, it shattered! getting all over the ground, the bed, and into Chris's wrists. YIKES!
Here's a close up of the shattered shelf on top of a lower shelf...

Halloween Date Night!

Before we left for Thanksgiving Point, Chris surprised me with an delicious meal, complete with tin plates, dutch oven, and everything else you need to eat outdoors...indoors! The food was divine and the company even better, of course. I have the best husband in the whole world!
Then we carpooled up to Thanksgiving Point/Cornbelly's with Ryan and Kim to meet up with Seth and Cindy and Dusty and Jessica. They gave out free handwarmers-yay!
They had this huge rocking chair so we took a cute couples picture...can't you picture us in 60 years?
The whole group on the rocking chair. It was ginormous!
The haunted creature that was very dark and very scary. Of course, Brave Chris was not scared.
Ryan and Kim!
Good friends!
Seth and Cindy in the normal size rocking chairs :)
I love us!
The end.

You've Had a Birthday!

Way back a long time ago....my Grandpa Lewis had a birthday and I MADE a card for him with my scrapbooking supplies. It was really fun and this a picture of my proud work!
I guess you could say that October was my month to be daring and try new things because I made my first apple pie (thanks, Kristina, for a fabulous recipe) for Chris's birthday. The best thing was that it turned out super yummy! So here's a picture of two things I LOVE: apple pie and my hubby...not in that order ;)

Fall Cleaning!

We undertook the massive project to clean out the garage our Management left old tenant's stuff, old cupboard food, old refrigerator food, and even old freezer food! Sick, I know. But we did it! All of the floor you see in this picture used to be under layers of junk-we are about 2 hours into the project in this first picture.

And then I had to show you our dumpster fun! Chris took about 15 trash cans full across the street and filled up the two complex dumpsters on our block. He had to be creative of how to get the trash in, and here is my balance beam master:
We worked for about 5 hours and were very proud of our handiwork! Since most of the stuff was from years ago, we outfitted our apartment with a few "new" baskets and paraphernalia. YAY for cleaning!!! Look at how much cleaner and neater it is:
