Happy 1 Year, Savannah!
Wow, we can't believe how time has flown by. You are a big one year old now and you can do so many things! Daddy and Mommy love you so much and have enjoyed watching you grow. We are excited to see you grow and learn even more this next year. Here is an update on what you have been doing.
You are learning about body parts. You can correctly point to your own hair, nose, mouth, tummy, bellybutton, diaper, toes, and sometimes eyes. You like to tickle toes...yours, daddy's, mommy's, the teddy bear-anyone who has them. You squeal and tickle and it is the cutest thing!
You have stood up and walked! You walked 2-3 steps between mommy and daddy for a week before your birthday. Grandma and Grandpa gave you a popper and instead of pushing it, you picked it up and carried it 10 steps! Way to go! By your birthday you were walking 10 feet at a time and loving the attention you got from mommy and daddy cheering you on. Such a big girl!
You like to look at animals. Almost every animal we see, you make a growling sound, whether in a book or real life. Daddy has finally gotten you to make a cute, high-pitched "woof woof" for doggy and you sometimes howl back when I make a howling sound for our wolf pillows.
You love your teddy bears. Any stuffed animal you see you give it loves and kisses, point to its nose, and carry it around. You especially like when we play Cosmo's music (BYU fight song). You dance along as Cosmo plays.
Speaking of little dancer, you love to move and groove to music. Sometimes you just bob your head from side to side, but more recently you have started swaying your whole body, pumping your arms up and down, and standing up to bounce and bend your knees. You stood up and danced at Storytime at the library on your birthday and it was darling!!
You have almost given up your pacifier in your crib. You threw it out a couple times and still fell asleep so we are trying it out to see if you will continue to be a champ sleeper without it...2 days and counting!
You have 3 molars and one on the way. We missed when the first two came through (maybe in CA during those 6 sleepless nights) but we knew when the 3rd came in and that 4th one is taking a looooong time. Thank goodness for tylenol!
You enjoyed your first fireworks from an air conditioned car (you loved them!), your first rodeo in Prescott at the World's Oldest Rodeo (you loved dancing to the music and charming the ladies behind us), your first parade (the horses were interesting at first...then you were more interested in the other spectator's dogs), first circus show at the library, and first time on a plane (to Idaho for your cousin's baby shower who is due the same day as your baby sister).
Happy happy birthday, sweet little Savannah. We love you so, so, so much. You have changed our lives for the better and we love that you are in our family!
