7 months

Happy 7 months, Savannah!

This month:
You finally decided rolling over was a fun thing to do and now you never stop!  You can roll over whenever you want, even in the smaller confines of your crib.  It must be nice to finally feel a little in control of what toy you play with.
You have 4 big teeth and your top side 2 are slowly making their way through.  We love your toothy grin, especially when you squint your eyes to accentuate that cute smile.
Good thing it is nice weather!  You are having so much fun being outside at the park.  We took you to the tennis courts and you were very happy to just watch mommy and daddy play for a while.  You are excited for the thrill of sliding down slides with a lot of support from mommy or daddy and you absolutely love the swings.  You giggle and squeal when you are being pushed in one of the baby swings at the park near our house.
You love veggies more that fruit!  You eat green beans, peas, and carrots the best.  You also like sweet potatoes.  You like applesauce and peaches and bananas.  Pears have lost their appeal and mangoes were kind of ok.  Because you are such a reacher, we finally got you a high chair so that we can actually put something on the table when we have dinner.  You love it and we are excited to try some finger foods now that you have a big tray all to yourself.  We did give you a slice of apple to play with and you were so adorable as you would lick it, scrunch up your face, then lick it again.
You got to visit all your grandparents this month-lucky little girl!  You are starting to have a hard time accepting others holding you and the first little while at both houses were rocky, but you eventually warmed up to everyone and enjoyed the extra attention.  Your grandparents sure love you!
Naps are much better.  You have learned to stay up for about 3 hours at a time and consequently are sleeping for 1-2 hours at a time (instead of 25 minutes).  Mommy loves this!
You love to flap your hands up and down.  You do this when someone is holding you, when you are sitting up, and when you are drinking your bottle-and this time is when you often hit your head in your exuberance to whack those little arms.
Talk, talk, talk.  You are making more and more sounds everyday.  You like to listen to mommy and daddy make silly sounds.  You learned how to click your tongue on the top of your mouth with your mouth closed-quite an interesting trick but cute, of course.
You are such a cutie in the stores.  Everywhere we go, you get so many compliments on how cute you are.  At the dollar store on Valentine's Day, an old man even bought you a Valentine's balloon!  This balloon has been your favorite toy for the last few days, for sure.
You and mommy survived daddy's first business trip.  He had to fly to Modesto for a school project for 4 days.  We cheated a little bit and went to Grandpa and Grandma's house, but you really missed daddy a lot!  You were so excited to see him when he came back-you would not stop smiling and pumping your arms and legs.  You love him so much and he loves and missed you, too!

We love you so much!

6 months

Happy 6 months, sweet girl!

Some highlights from this month:
You have 3 teeth-almost 4!  As a result, you have been sick with a runny nose, cough, and double ear infections over the last 4 weeks.  This made for lots of time with mommy and daddy in the middle of the night...maybe a plus for you, but lack of sleep is not such a plus when you are an adult :)
You hate berry tylenol, love bubble gum Amox, hate strawberry Pedialyte, and like grape tylenol.
You are doing so great with eating cereal.  You had only rice cereal for a few weeks and now we started oatmeal-we can't shovel it in your mouth fast enough.  Can't wait to try fruits and veggies!
You are sitting up like a champ!  You mastered this in San Diego right after Christmas and it is your favorite thing.  You like to sit and suck on the horn of your unicorn, sit and play with the shower curtain, sit and lick the table leg, really, sit and play anywhere that someone else is near.
You finally rolled over...you did a few times when you were 2 months old and then you stopped.  You did it once a few days ago, once the next day, and now you are back to not.  It just doesn't seem to interest you.
You laugh and giggle all the time!  You love peek-a-boo even more and you love for us to come right in yoru face and say "boo!", "Savannah!", "I love you!", or "giggle!"  It is very fun.
You love dancing to music, with mommy and daddy's help for the most part.  Sometimes you flap your left arm up over your head and then thump it down on your tummy over and over again.  Otherwise, you love when mommy and daddy wiggle you around singing silly songs.
You love you be outside.  I don't think this will ever change and since mommy loves to be outside, this is a great thing!
You like to swing!  We are excited to take you to the park more and enjoy the simple delight you will have in learning all the things to play on.
You grab EVERYTHING!  We sit you in your bumbo at the table and you reach over and love to grab the fruit in the fruit bowl, lean over and play with your toes, try and grab any dishes that are or are not within your reach.  Everything is an exciting toy to you!  You love chewing on your toothbrush, spoon, books, and fingers.
The mirror is your best friend.  You chatter and bat at that cute girl that looks back at you from the mirror.
You love to talk, especially when you are alone or everyone else is quiet.  You chatter on and on, experimenting with all kinds of different sounds.  You love to squeal as high as you can...so high sometimes that no noise comes out.  It's pretty cute.

Mommy and daddy love you very much, Miss Savannah.  We are excited to see what next month will bring!
